Vacuum cleaner service puts customer first

Focusing on clients’ needs brings customer loyalty and repeat business

Mike Smith has been in the vacuum cleaner business for over 25 years, starting in sales. After extensive technical training he went to work for West Island Vacuum as a service technician in 1993. He soon became the manager of the Pointe Claire store. In 2012 he bought the store, changing the name to Vacupro.

Vacupro carries a large selection of top vacuum cleaner brands.

“Our lower overhead allows us to match or beat the prices of the large stores” says Smith. Futhermore, as an added value “we also take old machines on trade-in.”

“This business is all about service” he says. “Our aim is to build long term relationships; we do that by taking care of our customers. We do everything we can to solve the customer’s problem as inexpensively as we can. We won’t sell them a new machine if fixing the old one is a better option.”

Customer Kay Payson of Pointe Claire, who operates a home cleaning business, says:

“I have been dealing with Mike for over ten years. In my business I go through a lot of vacuum cleaners, Mike has always been very helpful. He always works in the best interest of the customer. I have referred several people to him and they were all very happy with his service.”

Another happy customer, Steve Williams, of “Steve’s Car Wash” in Dollard, who has been dealing with Mike Smith for over fifteen years, says:

“The service has been excellent since Mike took over. He runs a very efficient shop; he is reliable and honest. He bends over backward to save you money.”

The Vacupro store is a very neat, well arranged shop in the Pointe Claire Shopping Centre. Customers can bring in their vacuums for repair, or buy supplies such as bags, hoses and other supplies. The store also stocks other types of floor care products such as the Bona Floorcare System, “which cleans and shines any hard floor surface in one motion.”

“We even stock Persil Laundry Detergent which is hard to find in this area” says Smith.

In addition to the in-store service Vacupro also offers a mobile in-home service for estimates, repairs and new installations.

An indication of the high regard Vacupro has within the vacuum cleaner industry, they have been designated as the official manufacturer’s warranty service centre for several major brands of vacuums.

“The machines we carry are the ones we feel give the best value from the customer’s perspective,” says Mike Smith. “The customer always comes first.”
